Ts. Dr. Rahsidi Sabri Muda has been appointed as a reviewer for the World Development Sustainability journal, published by Elsevier. The journal focuses on novel and cutting-edge research related to sustainable development, with emphasis on economic and social progress, natural resources, and environmental sustainability.
This appointment reflects TNBR continued contribution to global research and knowledge advancement in sustainability.
Dr. Hairun Aisyah Mohiyadin was invited as an Adjunct Lecturer for the course “Solid Waste and Water Innovation Project” at the Civil Engineering School, Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Shah Alam. She shared her expertise in Water Engineering and Environmental Sustainability with UiTM undergraduate students.
Dr. Mohammad Hasbullah Mazlan was honoured with the IoT-Energy Award at the Malaysia Technology Excellence Awards 2024, held at the Intercontinental Hotel Kuala Lumpur on 21 March.
Ts. Muhammad Tarmizi Azmi from the Power System Unit won the Technical Innovation Award at the Grid Technical Conference 2024 (GridTech 2024) for his paper titled Grid Sustainability: Improve Grid Stability & Reliability with Virtual Synchronous Machine (VSM) Technology.
TNBR researchers received four awards at the International Conference on Sustainable Energy, Infrastructure & Environment (ICSEIE) 2024 held at Le Meridien Hotel, Putrajaya on 14–15 October. The conference theme was “Embracing Sustainability: Accelerating Energy Transition for a Greener Tomorrow.”

En. Zulfadhly Zardy has been appointed by the Department of Standards Malaysia as the Chairman of the Malaysia Working Group, NFC 05 TC7 WG3 (Insulating Oil), responsible for the development and review of national standards related to insulating oil.
The Build Environment & Climate Change Unit has been appointed to conduct the ESG Baseline Assessment and Rating for TNB, supporting TNB’s commitment towards achieving Net Zero.
DYAM Raja Dihilir Perak Darul Ridzuan, Raja Iskandar Dzulkarnain, signed the Akekchep proclamation, accompanied by the submission of the Akekchep Action Plan and final project report by TNB to the Koperasi Orang Asli Sg Tiang and Perak State Park Corporation.
The T-PEMS energy product, developed by Principal Researcher Md. Fauzan Kamal Mohd. Yapandi from the Build Environment & Climate Change (BECC) Unit, was nominated among the top 6 products in the Malaysian Commercialization Year (MCY) 2023 Awards.
Dr. Lo Chin Kim received recognition in the Energy Storage category for his research on the Community Energy Storage System at Enlit Asia 2024, held at MITEC, Kuala Lumpur.
ETODS received three Certificates of Excellence from the International Interlaboratory Study (IIS) in the Netherlands, distinguishing it as the only Malaysian laboratory to successfully compete among 66 global laboratories. This achievement marks over 10 consecutive years of excellence in transformer oil analysis.
TNBR received an award in recognition of its joint study with Universiti Malaya, which explored the innovative production of bio-hydrogen from palm oil mill effluent.
TNB Research Achieves Energy Management Gold Standard (EMGS) Certification
TNB Research (TNBR) is the first premises within the TNB Group to attain the Energy EMGS from the ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE). This recognition highlights TNBR’s commitment to sustainable and efficient energy management, based on a regional ASEAN assessment system.
