Hasmarizal Hassan is the Chief Grid Officer of Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) and currently serves as the Chairman of TNB Research Sdn. Bhd. With over 27 years of experience in engineering, operations, maintenance, and asset development, he plays a vital role in advancing TNB’s efforts in the ASEAN Power Grid and Energy Transition agenda. His leadership ensures sustainable growth and reliable power supply for strategic sectors, including data centres. He holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from UNITEN/Melbourne Business School and a Master of Engineering from Imperial College London.

Leo Pui Yong is the Chief Sustainability Officer at TNB and a member of the Board of TNB Research. Appointed on 1st June 2023, she brings more than 20 years of experience in sustainability, risk management, engineering, and internal audit. Her leadership ensures that TNB’s sustainability strategies are aligned with corporate goals and future-focused priorities. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from UNITEN and a Master’s in Energy & Power Systems from the University of Malaya. She is also a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) and RIMS-Certified Risk Management Professional.

Ir. Dr. Mohd Fadzil Mohd Siam serves as the Acting Chief Strategy & Ventures Officer at TNB and is a Board Member of TNB Research. He leads corporate strategy, sustainability development, and energy transition planning for TNB, including initiatives such as the Sustainability Pathway 2050 and Energy Transition Plan. With over 25 years of experience, he has held various leadership roles including Chief Strategy Officer and Managing Director of TNBR. He graduated with First-Class Honours in Electrical Engineering from the University of Southampton, obtained a PhD from Heriot-Watt University, and holds an MBA from UNITEN/Melbourne Business School.

Christine Yong is the Head of Digital at Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) and a Board Member of TNB Research Sdn. Bhd., where she leads the company’s digital transformation towards becoming a data-driven and AI-empowered energy leader. She spearheads TNB’s Data Value Unlocking Programme (DVUP) and AI initiatives under Reimagining TNB 2.0, focusing on value creation through data, digital governance, and responsible AI adoption. Since 2015, she has been at the forefront of TNB’s digital innovation, initiating projects such as the Smart City pathfinder, Renewable Energy Certificate Exchange, Digital Marketplace, and Electro-Mobility Services. Christine holds a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting and Finance and a Master of Science in Business Information Technology Systems from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow.

Ir. Ahmad Sazree is the Head of Operations at TNB’s Distribution Network and a Board Member of TNB Research Sdn. Bhd. With over 25 years of experience across various leadership roles in TNB and its subsidiaries, he is responsible for overseeing the operations and maintenance of a vast national grid infrastructure—spanning over 420,000 km of overhead and underground lines and serving nearly 18,000 MW of demand, including over 3,000 MW from renewable energy. Prior to this, he was Managing Director of Tenaga Switchgear Sdn. Bhd., where he led multi-million-ringgit infrastructure projects and drove product innovation in energy storage and EV charging. His earlier roles include leading the Integrated Facility Management (IFM) transformation, overseeing regional operations across Peninsular Malaysia and Sabah, and contributing to strategic distribution transformation initiatives. Ir. Sazree holds a BSc in Electrical Engineering from Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis, a Master’s in Electrical Engineering (Power) from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, and an MBA from Universiti Tenaga Nasional.

Ir. Ts. Dr. Shamsul Amri is the Chief Technology & Engineering Officer (CTEO) at TNB Power Generation Sdn. Bhd. (TNB Genco) and a Board Member of TNB Research Sdn. Bhd. With over 20 years of leadership experience across the energy sector, he has held senior roles such as Managing Director of Jimah East Power, Head of Operations & Maintenance at TNB REMACO, Project Director of LEXPRO, and COO of Integrax Bhd, overseeing power assets across Malaysia, Pakistan, Kuwait, and Cambodia. Dr. Shamsul holds a Ph.D. in Nuclear Engineering from Texas A&M University, an M.Sc. from KAIST, and a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech, alongside professional certifications in safety and engineering. A specialist in advanced reactor technologies and energy transition, he has led key decarbonization initiatives, served as a speaker at forums like ENLIT Asia and iNuSTEC, and contributes to professional bodies such as the Board of Engineers Malaysia and the Malaysia Nuclear Society. His research and policy work on nuclear, biomass co-firing, and digitalization of power plants supports TNB Genco’s vision for a cleaner, greener energy future.

Prof. Dato’ Ts. Dr. Kamaruzzaman Sopian is a Board Member of TNBR and a Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS. A global expert in solar and renewable energy, he has received over 90 international innovation awards and contributed to various international projects under agencies such as UNDP, UNESCO, and ASEAN. He is a Fellow of the Academy of Sciences Malaysia and has been listed as a Highly Cited Researcher (2019–2023) by Clarivate Analytics. His notable recognitions include the IDB S&T Prize, ASEAN Energy Awards, and Malaysia Green Technology Award.

Ir. Dr. Norshah Hafeez Shuaib is the Executive Director and Chief Technical Officer of MTC Group and sits on the Board of TNB Research. He has 20 years of experience in academia, industry, and entrepreneurship, having previously served with UNITEN, TNB Research, and Lloyd’s Register before co-founding MTC Group. He holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Nottingham, an MBA from the University of the West of Scotland, and is both a Chartered Engineer (UK) and a Professional Engineer (Malaysia).

Dato’ Ts. Dr. Mohd Zamri Yusoff is the Managing Director of TNB Research Sdn. Bhd., bringing deep expertise in engineering, academic leadership, and innovation. He was formerly Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research & Innovation) at UNITEN and began his career as a Mechanical Engineer at TNB Research. He holds a PhD from the University of Birmingham, a Bachelor of Engineering from Imperial College London, and has also studied Mechanical Engineering at the University of Cambridge. He holds a certification in “Inspiring through Shared Vision” from Skillsoft.
