Green Sediment Brick
The green sediment bricks were developed from sediment of Ringlet reservoir. The bricks were developed using mixture of sediment (silt and sand), concrete and water with dimension ±3.2mm from standard dimension (215 mm x 102.5 mm x 65 mm)
To combat the sedimentation problem, around 200,000 m3 sediments from Ringlet Reservoir were dredged annually. This ever increasing sediments were dumped without any usage which resulted in limited storage area
Key Features & Benefits:
- Compressive Strength range between 6.3.– 12.8 MPa
- Pass 2 hour fire resistance test by SIRIM and obtain Certificate from BOMBA
- Developed from waste material and using high pressure instead of burning process
Applications
- Building Construction (eg: wall, partition for building, fencing etc)
- Landscaping such as retaining walls, garden borders and pathways
